Five girls Nicola Stuart, Anika Bostelaar, Jodi Albert, Michelle Barber and Linzi Martin, hoping to make it big in the new millenium. A story of fame, betrayal and a sudden failure. It was shock after shock for the girls as their comeback single Girls on top only went to number 21, this was followed by Linzi's pregnancy (however Linzi said that this would not effect the band and Girl Thing wasn't over). The next shock meant that Girl Thing was fast going downhill : New band Hear'Say would be recording the single Pure and Simple .. not them. The girls struggled on to release their last ever single "young free and happy" in Australia, but with no success elswhere in the world and Hear'Say reaching number 1 with Pure and Simple, the girls called it a day.
The Girl Thing story may be over, but we are not going to forget them in a hurry.
